ARTIST PROOF VS LIMITED EDITIONS

What Is An Artist Proof?

Artist Proofs (A.P.) are a small batch of prints I produce outside the main Limited Edition run—usually no more than 10% of the edition size. Traditionally, they were the first prints created, allowing the artist to review the quality before releasing the full edition. Because of this history, Artist Proofs have always been regarded as rarer and more collectible.

While my Limited Editions are numbered (for example, 12/25), Artist Proofs are marked “A.P.” and kept separate from the numbered series. These Artist Proofs have also been displayed in the gallery, so they may show very minor signs of handling from being on display. For many collectors, owning an Artist Proof feels like owning a piece of the artist’s personal archive—something set aside and genuinely limited.
